Avah Broc lives in the Kootenay region of British Columbia with her family. She wrote her first story when she was in grade four and was awarded her teacher’s inspiring comments on how enjoyable her story was and that she had a talent for writing.
Broc went on to become a public school teacher, obtaining a Master of Education, teaching both elementary and middle school for a number of years. Over the course of her career and during the time she was a mother to three children, she never forgot her teacher’s words and always took time to develop her writing skills.
Then, it was through discussions with her husband that the main character of her story, Raja, a mere peasant girl, came to life in her imagination, giving birth to her intriguing and inspiring medieval tale of castles, knights, and princesses. She hopes her story will give hope to those who read it and will inspire and encourage everyone to be their best person.
Raja and the Throne of Zurkia is her debut novel, and she dedicates her book series to her husband, Michael, for his creative contribution. One of her rewards is when she is reading her story to her husband and it puts a smile on his face, or better yet makes him laugh.
